This eight-week class introduces students to the skills needed to use the Macintosh computer. Students gain a basic introductory familiarity with some of the most widely used software packages to help prepare them for future courses: Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word and QuarkXPress. By the end of the class, students will also understand such techniques as using menus and icons; navigating from the desktop and from programs; file and disk management; memory, storage and scanning. Three hours per week working on the Mac is strongly recommended. This class is appropriate for people with little or no Macintosh or other computer experience.
